COVID-19

Let's fight the pandemic together

Are messenger RNA vaccines safe?

Vaccine safety is one of the requirements for a vaccine to be granted marketing authorization (MA). A positive opinion for marketing authorization is given only when there is sufficient evidence regarding the safety of the vaccine. COVID-19 vaccines must meet the same stringent requirements as all other vaccines.

Can you get a genetic mutation with an RNA vaccine?

After vaccination, the vaccine particles that contain mRNA are rapidly absorbed by the body's cells. The mRNA is broken down and cannot reach the nucleus of our cells, where our DNA is located. Our own DNA is therefore not altered or damaged.

Do Covid-19 vaccines contain adjuvants?

No. RNA vaccines do not contain adjuvants, as their very structure allows them to stimulate the innate immune system.

Is it possible to get COVID-19 from a vaccine?

No, COVID-19 vaccines do not contain live attenuated or inactivated virus. Therefore, they cannot cause the disease, but it is possible that the vaccinated person may have been infected shortly before or shortly after the injection. The body needs a few weeks to protect itself after vaccination.

How did the COVID-19 vaccines get developed so quickly?

With COVID-19 vaccines, all of these steps are done at the same time. There is no need to wait for one step to be completed before moving on to the next.

Do COVID-19 vaccines cause side effects?

Like all medicines, vaccines can cause side effects, but they do not happen to everyone. These side effects are usually mild to moderate, such as fever, fatigue, headache or a local reaction (pain, redness, swelling). These symptoms disappear on their own within a few days.

How can you prevent it? By vaccination
