Santorini Conferences Association

The Santorini Conferences Asscoation is a Society created in 2020 by Sofia Siest under law 1901. (https://www.santoriniconference.org/

The aims of the Santorini Conferences Association are to:

  • Stabilise the Santorini Conferences organisation
  • Help and promote consortia creation 
  • Circulate information
  • Facilitate contacts between academia and industry 
  • Help organisation of other than the Santorini Conferences meetings 
  • Give advices for grants
  • Help in founding post- docs and students positions  

More precisely:

The objectives established for the Association are to:

  • Promote education and research in personalised medicine and pharmacogenomics based on potential biomarkers and clinical and environmental phenotypes (in particular in fields related to smoking, nutrition, physical exercise, sport, pain, etc.) in order to produce verified, quality information for clinical and post-marketing applications and patients; the activities and management of Biological Resource Centres fall as well within the scope of this objective;
  • Facilitate contacts between all those who share the Association’s objectives;
  • Incorporate fundamental multidisciplinary approaches in research projects and transform such projects into clinical advances, by training and educating both health professionals and the general public in the fields of human pharmacogenetics, clinical pharmacology, clinical pathology and personalised medicine.
  • To achieve the objectives, the Association organises, co-organises and supports meetings, symposia, conferences and other scientific gatherings and educational programmes, to produce information to be used in clinical practice and provided to patients in the fields of personalised medicine, pharmacogenomics and personalised therapy based on potential biomarkers, environmental factors and clinical metrics.
  • The major event will be the congress of the Santorini Conferences, held every two years. A General Assembly of the Association’s members will convene during this event.
  • Further initiatives contributing to the goals of the Association may also be undertaken, such as taking part in grant applications, clinical trials, multicentre trials and biomarker assessments, drafting and providing independent expert opinions in the areas of interest of the Association.
  • The Association will publish the programmes of its congresses and abstracts of communications.
  • As a general rule, the Association may initiate any course of action that facilitates the fulfillment of its objectives.

To achieve these goals, the association organises, co-organises and supports meetings, symposia, conferences and other scientific gatherings and educational programmes, in order to generate information to be used in clinical practice and to be provided to patients in the fields of personalised medicine, pharmacogenomics and personalised therapy based on potential biomarkers, environmental factors and clinical measurements.

The major event will be the Santorini Conferences, which are held every two years. A general meeting of the association's members will be held at this event.
 Other initiatives contributing to the objectives of the Association may also be undertaken, such as participation in grant applications, clinical trials, multi-centre trials and biomarker evaluations, and the writing and provision of independent expert advice in areas of interest to the Association.
 The Association will publish programmes of its congresses and abstracts of its papers.
 
In general, the Association may initiate any action that facilitates the achievement of its objectives.

  • 120 euros/year for individuals
  • 60 euros/year for students
  • 1200 euros/year for companies
